Veto is VALORANT's 29th agent, released 7 October 2025, and the seventh Sentinel on the roster. His kit runs on one theme, mutation: a short-range vortex teleport, an anti-utility intercept tool, a holding trap that deafens and decays, and an ultimate that turns him into a "Mutated" form briefly immune to every enemy ability.

This is a verified reference. Abilities, role, and release info come from the VALORANT Wiki and the official PlayValorant agent page. Tier-list and pick-rate opinions are left out on purpose. For live competitive data, check VLR.gg.

Background

  • VALORANT Protocol number: 29th recruit.
  • Agent class: Sentinel (the seventh added).
  • Release date: 7 October 2025.

Abilities

Chokehold

A viscous fragment of mutation that deploys on impact and holds enemies in place. Anyone caught is Deafened and Decayed.

Crosscut

Fire to place a vortex on the ground. While in range and looking at it, reactivate to teleport to it.

Interceptor

Fire to place at the projected location, then re-use to activate. Once active, Interceptor destroys any enemy utility that would bounce off a player or be destroyed naturally by gunfire.

Evolution (ultimate)

Veto's mutation peaks and he enters his Mutated form for a short window. While mutated:

  • Immune to all enemy agent abilities: flashes, stuns, decay, mollies, suppression, and the rest.
  • Passive HP regeneration when out of active combat.

One caveat from the wiki: immunity covers agent abilities, not bullets. Mutated Veto still dies to gunfire on standard timings.

This page leaves out tier-list placements, "best maps" picks, and pick-rate claims on purpose. Those move patch to patch and need current VLR / GRID data to state accurately. For Veto's live VCT pick rate and map performance, see our esports page.

Frequently asked

When was Veto released in VALORANT?

7 October 2025. He is the 29th VALORANT agent and the 7th Sentinel added to the roster.

What role is Veto in VALORANT?

Sentinel. His kit combines a holding trap (Chokehold, which deafens and decays), an anti-utility tool (Interceptor, which destroys enemy abilities that bounce off players or are destroyed by gunfire), a short-range vortex teleport (Crosscut), and an ability-immunity ultimate (Evolution / Mutated form).

How does Veto's ultimate Evolution work?

Evolution turns Veto into a Mutated form for a short window. While mutated, he is immune to all enemy agent abilities (flashes, stuns, decay, mollies, suppression) and regenerates HP out of active combat. He is NOT immune to bullets; bullets still kill him on standard timings.

Where can I find Veto's pick rate and best maps?

Pick-rate and map win-rate data changes patch to patch. The most reliable public sources are VLR.gg's per-player and per-team stats pages plus Riot's official VCT broadcast data. Blog tier lists that don't cite a fresh data source should not be trusted as factual.
